Application For Support
Seeking and Striving to prepare children aims to support families and children by providing concrete resources in times of need. Through our targeted support we hope to provide quality EXPERIENCES and alleviate stressors that may impact any family.
We know that success in school and in life is often tied to the wealth of enrichment opportunities that a child has. These activities increase background knowledge, impact self-esteem, and allow for individuals to explore their passion and develop new skills.
Additionally, we know that FINANCIAL stressors impacting families have a wider reaching impact then what may appear on the surface. THey can impact the daily resources available to children and cultivate anxiety to all effected.
Families can apply for concrete resources to help them access EXPERIENCES that would otherwise not be available or to alleviate FINANCIAL burdens, expected and unexpected. Some examples of causes that SSPC would fund would be unexpected car bills, ENROLLMENT fees for camps, grocery and gas gift cards, music lessons, and sports registration fees.
SSPC does their best to fund all requests, however, funding is based upon stated need and availability of funds. To apply for funding, please read and complete the 2019 funding application.
The 2019 SSPC funding application is intended to identify specific needs for individual families and provide concrete resources based upon documented need and funding availability. If approved for funding, SSPC will provide the applicant with the identified resource. SSPC will only make payments to the applicant and not third parties. If the funding request is to pay a third party, SSPC reserves the right to contact that third party within 48 hours of funds being provided to ensure that payment has been made by the applicant. If payment to the third party has not been made, SSPC reserves the right to cancel the check to the applicant. If funding is granted, the applicant agrees to sign a receipt of payment upon obtaining said payment, indicating the amount of the payment and the purpose for the funds. Applicants are not restricted in the amount of times they apply for funding, however, funding for applications is never guaranteed. Funding will be provided, as available, in the categories of enrichment activities or financial stressors. Additionally, applicants must document the need for this funding and why they cannot fund the need themselves. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis by the SSPC board and applicants should expect a response to their request within 2-3 weeks. SSPC reserves the right to contact you with any questions regarding this request. Finally, this information will be shared with the board of directors, however, SSPC will, to the best of its ability, maintain the confidentiality of this application. SSPC will not knowingly share this information with any third parties. Finally, this information will be kept for the purposes of book-keeping.
